“I loved having the chance to think about what in my life might be relevant or interesting to these kids, and hearing from my fellow instructors the things in their life that had shaped them. I decided to talk about growing up British/American binational, both to share some information about British culture and to talk explicitly about differences in culture and how they can affect how we communicate. I especially liked asking the kids what similarities and differences they saw between Japanese, British and American cultures.
