2018.05.02

SIJ this year is very honored to have Bilal, an outstanding and active student majoring in Computer Science. He has engaged himself in various activities from leadership program, educational community service to transcription of books for students with visual or hearing impairment.

Hello friends,

My name is Bilal Hussain and I am a sophomore at Harvard College studying computer science. I am a first-generation student from Pakistan and considering my home is 7000 miles away from where I study, I do feel homesick every now and then. However, I could not be happier about my decision to get a liberal arts education in the USA. During my two years at Harvard, I have connected with a diverse group of people and travelled extensively. I have learned a lot about myself as a person and I look forward to sharing my story with all of you at SIJ. During this two-week program I am hoping to make some unforgettable memories, meet some inspiring people, and learn more about the cultural values and traditions of Japan. I hope all of you are as excited as I am! If you are not, then get excited because it’s going to be a great time.
