Some highlights about Essay Writing Class

In the Essay Writing workshop at SIJ 2019, students learned about different writing styles including expository essays, persuasive essays and creative fiction and poetry writing.

Students read a wide variety of texts to gain a better understanding of the structure of these writing styles and practiced identifying and using literary devices, like metaphors, similes and alliteration. For their final project, students chose to write an essay or a short story.

They look forward to sharing excerpts from their individual projects with the rest of SIJ at the final presentation. We hope they enjoyed their workshop experience and continue to write great things in the future!
