Hello everyone! I am Sumire Hirotsuru, a native of Oita, Japan and a Co-founder of Summer in JAPAN. I graduated from Harvard in 2016, where I studied Music and Global Health and Health Policy. On campus, I served as the president of Brattle Street Chamber Players and the Harvard Early Music Society, and a co-concertmaster of Harvard Radcliffe Orchestra. After finishing my Masters degree at The Juilliard School, I have lived in New York, performing around the U.S. and Japan as a violinist. I love traveling around the world through concerts and tours, and writing books – my third book is coming out on June 25th! Looking forward to working with all of you at SIJ2020!
