Summer in JAPAN 2021 kicked off today  – SIJ welcomed the Mayor of Oita City, Kiichiro Sato, and SIJ board member Norio Murakami as guest speakers after the opening speech from Mari Hirotsuru, Teddy(Harvard College ’24), and Minori(a 13-year-old student from Hokkaido), who also made wonderful speeches.

Each Team Harvard and Team Oita member made a self-introduction speech to welcome our students from all across Japan and overseas.

We are all very excited for Day2!
