2023年につきましては、ハーバード生が講師陣の”7日間の英語セミナー” “廣津留すみれと仲間たちコンサート”等の開催は見送らせていただきます。楽しみにお待ちくださる皆さまにはご迷惑をおかけいたします、申し訳ございません。
2012年、SIJ 共同設立者廣津留すみれがハーバード大学に合格した年に始まりましたこのサマースクール、これまで多くの優秀で明るいハーバード大学生を中心に、
・日米国際交流
・世界中の小中高生が英語で学ぶ多岐に渡るクラス
・日本の大学生、アジアからの留学生、アメリカのトップ大学生の仲間作りの場
・新しい教育を創る機関
として10年以上続いてまいりました。受講生の小中高生が、
学校よりも好き！
毎日がSIJ ならいいのに！
英語だけでなく多様性のマナーを学べた！
人前で話すのが得意になった！
など笑顔で話してくれるのが大変嬉しく、やり甲斐のある活動です。
また、各理事のみなさま、代表理事の廣津留真理、廣津留すみれは全員、全期間を無報酬で活動してまいりました。2020年から3年間はWater Dragon Foundation よりご寄付を賜り、おかげさまで2022年は久しぶりの大分市現地開催が実現しました。
みなさま、本当にあたたかいサポートに心よりお礼申し上げます。
今回2023年のお休みは、時代の流れがとても速い今、英語教育改革やグローバル教育普及のミッションだけでは未来を担うお子さまや大学生の才能の発展に貢献できないと判断いたしたからです。
新たなインパクトあるミッション掲げて、みなさまの前にプログラムを発表させていただく日まで、今しばらくお待ちくださいませ。
なお、国東市、大分市の2日間SIJ セミナーは例年通りの開催となります。日程は第1日目が2023年7月中、第2日目が8月上旬の予定です。
注）大分市と国東市のプログラムにつきましては、各自治体主催になりますので各市の市民のお子さまのみのご参加になります。

Thank you for your many inquiries and application requests for Summer in JAPAN.
For 2023, we will not be holding the “7-day English Seminar” and “Sumire Hirotsuru and Friends Concert,” both of which would have been led by Harvard students. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
This summer program started in 2012, the year that Sumire Hirotsuru, co-founder of SIJ, was accepted to Harvard University, and has been a great success with many talented and bright Harvard students joining over the years.
An International exchange between Japan and the U.S.,
a wide variety of classes were held in English for elementary, junior high, and high school students from all over the world.
SIJ was a place for Japanese university students, students from Asia, and top American university students to make friends.
An institution that creates new education
The program continued for more than 10 years as an institution that pioneered a new path for education. We are proud of the achievements of our elementary, junior high, and high school students!

We would like to thank you all for your warm support.
We are taking a break in 2023 because we have decided that the times are moving so fast that our mission of reforming English education and promoting global education alone is not enough to contribute to the development of the talents of the children and university students who will be responsible for the future.
Please wait until we can present our program to you with a new, more impactful mission.
The two-day SIJ seminar in Kunitachi and Oita will be held as usual. The first day will be in July 2023 and the second day in early August.
