SIJ is a fully funded, two-week program in Oita, Japan that provides Harvard University and Stanford University undergraduates and recent alumni with amazing opportunities including: 1 week of practical leadership experience delivering workshops in English (Computer Science, Public Speaking, and Language Arts) for schoolchildren aged 7 to 18 from all over the world, 4 days of sightseeing and cultural immersion where you can experience authentic Japanese cuisine, lodging within an ancient zen temple, exploring the beauty of nature from the mountains to the beaches, hands-on lessons in Japanese language and calligraphy, and a concert performance in a fully-equipped music hall. Unfortunately, however, if Japan still remains closed for foreign travelers, SIJ will be held online as in 2021, and 2020. Please see below for details. We truly expect JAPAN to open its border as soon as possible. As of April 1st, Japan accepts 10,000 foreign people per day and promise to accept 100, 000 foreign students who have already registered or hope to study in Japan by the end of May.
