Juilliard-trained violinist Sumire Hirotsuru offers highly personal, hands-on lessons, exploring not only technique and expression but also the theory and history behind the pieces students bring to her, helping each player discover their own musical voice.

August 2, 2026, starting at 5:30 PM after SIJ Lesson (45 minutes per student)

Oita City (details provided to selected applicants). A practice room will be available for waiting students.

Sumire Hirotsuru, violinist with a Master’s degree from The Juilliard School
Eligible Students
SIJ 2026 participants aged 7–18 with prior violin experience (no skill level requirements)
Eligibility: limited to 3 participants
Lesson Fee
¥21,000 (tax included)

During your SIJ Summer School application on the official website, include “Request for Sumire Hirotsuru Violin Lesson” (廣津留すみれヴァイオリンレッスン希望) in the free response section. Additional details about the audition process will be provided.
